Cheesylove

Project Specs

Pattern: Cheesylove from Knitty.com

Yarn: Knit Picks Merino Style in Coal and Strawberry

Needle Size: US 7 and US 5

Project Notes: This was a great first Fair Isle project.  The Fair Isle section was only 12 rows long, and the pattern for each row was extremely easy to memorize.  Most of my frustration with this pattern was due to the lack of clarity in the instructions.  There were no specifics on how to increase or decrease for the waist shaping or for the arms.  Figuring out the right way to increase and decrease was a little tricky without help from the pattern designer.  It was also confusing to figure out where to begin and end the ribbing pattern before and after the Fair Isle section.  I think the sleeves came out a little funky and a little too loose around the elbows for some reason. The only modification I made to the original pattern was to omit the ruffle on the body of the sweater and the sleeves.  The ruffle was a little to frilly for me.  The lack of stretchiness in the Fair Isle section makes this sweater a little tricky to get on and off.
