Patchwork Baby Blanket
Project Specs
This was a project I made for a baby shower. It's also my first quilt! As you can see, the gender of the baby wasn't know, so I tried to keep it gender neutral. The top is made of Minky, and is lined with flannel (I love the little hippos and elephants!). I decided that the blanket was warm enough, so I didn't add any batting. Instead of machine quilting, which I've never done before, I finished the quilt using a knot in the corner of the squares to keep the top and bottom together. The Minky is really great because it's so soft, but such a mess to work with!! There was lint all over the floor and all over me when I was cutting and sewing. I have another quilt planned soon at the request of my sister-in-law. My first Christmas present of the year maybe?
